Eastman Kodak is hoping everything old is a new again when it comes to an old favorite style of camera and it’s relying on the support of some big Hollywood filmmakers to help bring it back.

The company is unveiling a new Super 8 camera at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

The prototype takes the old look of a Super 8 camera and gives it digital functionality.

The plan to revive the format will also include several types of cameras along with support in film development and post production.

The move is getting endorsements from a number of filmmakers who got their start on Super 8 cameras including “Star Wars” director J.J. Abrams and “Dark Knight” director Christopher Nolan.
