A ninth person has been indicted in connection with the kidnapping and assault of two University of Rochester students.

An indictment was unsealed in court Friday morning against Elliot Rivera. He faces several charges including four counts of first-degree kidnapping, gang assault and sexual assault.

Rivera and eight other suspects are accused of assaulting and holding the two students against their will for 40 hours in a Harvest Street home in early December. Rochester’s SWAT team rescued the pair after the ordeal. They’ve all pleaded not guilty to their roles in the kidnapping and are scheduled to be back in court in March.
