ROCHESTER, N.Y. — It’s still five months away, but some of the headliners for the 15th edition of the Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival were announced Tuesday.

Tickets go on sale Friday for this year’s festival. The event began in 2002 and has grown into one of the nation’s most respected music festivals. Last year nearly 200,000 people attended the nine-day event with 1,500 artists performing in a total of 320 concerts.

This year singer-song writer Grace Potter will perform opening night. “First Lady of Neo-Soul” Eryka Badu headlines the following night June 25. Chick Corea, a 22-time Grammy winner, and the Joey Alexander Trio take the stage June 28. And trumpeter Chris Botti performs June 30.

The festival runs June 24-July 2.
