PERINTON, N.Y. — Ontario County sheriff’s deputies identified the two people charged following a police chase Sunday afternoon.

Deputies say they responded to Von Maur at Eastview Mall for a report of shoplifting. They say Derrick Harley, 48, of Rochester, and Pamela Gavin, 43, led deputies on a foot chase before getting into their car and taking off, hitting a deputy.

Authorities say a short vehicle pursuit began and ended when the car rolled over while trying to get onto route 490. Deputies say they deployed a taser on the pair before taking them into custody.

The two were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries and were released. They were arraigned in Victor Town Court.

Harley is being charged with aggravated unlawful operation of a motor vehicle, reckless driving and several traffic violations. Gavin is being charged with petit larceny. Authorities say both have outstanding warrants from multiple police agencies. Both are being held at the Ontario County Jail.
