Cambodian Dentist Sues Bill Nojay Estate, Others

Overview

A Cambodian dentist has filed a suit against the estate of Assemblyman Bill Nojay, along with three other men she claims conned her into investing $1 million into an agricultural firm back in 2012.

The lawsuit claims Nojay, along with three others, including the former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, talked her in to investing the money into a rice exporting company. The suit says the money was transferred in three installments and deposited into an account in Rochester titled ‘William Nojay Attorney Special Account.’ The company never began operations and is now defunct.

Nojay took his own life last month on the same day he was scheduled to appear in federal court on what was believed to be an unrelated case.

The defendant is seeking reimbursement of the $1 million.
