ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester police say no charges will be filed after a girl was hit by car early Friday morning.

Police say a 10-year-old child was hit by a car headed westbound on Chili Avenue.

It happened around 7:20 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Chili and Hobart Street, right in front of a Rochester Prep Middle School.

Police say the girl was not seriously hurt, but was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital.

Officials say no tickets will be issued because the girl disregarded the crossing guard’s instructions.

Police kept a small section of the roadway closed as they investigated, but has since reopened.
