Man Dead Following Shooting on Rochester’s Northwest Side

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Police are searching for a suspect in a fatal shooting on Glendale Park in Rochester’s Edgerton neighborhood Monday night.

Rochester Police Department officials say the shooting happened on Glendale Park near Dewey Avenue around 9:30 p.m.

The victim left the scene before police arrived and ended up at the hospital.

Police closed a couple of blocks on Glendale Park overnight for the investigation. They searched between cars, homes and on the street for any evidence that will help them find the person involved in the fatal shooting.

Police say the shooting victim is a 22-year old Rochester man. They say he ended up at Rochester General Hospital with a bullet wound. Authorities say he died a short time later.

RPD’s Major Crimes is investigating and has not released any more details on the investigation or who the homicide victim is.
