Rochester police identify Dewey Avenue shooting victim

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Police Department has released the name of the victim in Saturday night’s shooting on Dewey Avenue.

The victim has been identified as Raymond Walls, 23, of Fairport, N.Y.

Walls was shot in at least once in the upper body around 11 p.m. Saturday. No arrests have been made.

Police say he is expected to recover.

A short while later, officers stopped a car nearby where police say at least one person attempted to flee the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
