The man accused of killing his girlfriend and her young son in Sodus has pleaded guilty to causing their deaths, according to Wayne County Sheriff Barry Virts.

Alberto Reyes was charged in connection with the deaths of his then-girlfriend Selena Hidalgo-Calderon and her 14-month-old son Owen.

Selena’s body was found on a Sodus farm in May 2018. Remains believed to be Owen’s were eventually found about a half-mile from her body.

Reyes was indicted on two counts of second-degree murder and one count of tampering with physical evidence last December.

According to police, Reyes previously admitted to moving Selena’s body, but did not admit to killing her. Until the indictment, he was not charged in connection with Owen’s death.
