Officer Stabbed in Domestic Incident on Peck Street in Rochester

There is a large police presence on Rochester’s east side after an officer was stabbed Friday afternoon.

It happened around 12:30 p.m. on Peck Street, not far from Goodman Street. The area has been shut down while officers investigate.

According to Police, the officer was stabbed while responding to a domestic incident. Spectrum News  is told the officer’s injuries are to his face.

Authorities at the scene confirm one round was fired from the officer’s gun during the incident but no one was hit. Bystanders are credited with stepping in to help the officer subdue the suspect, described as a man in his 20s.

Officials say the officer was taken to Rochester General Hospital for treatment. The suspect was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital after being tased but police do not believe he was hurt.
